Edpuzzle Answers: How to Get Them in 2026 (Free & Fast)

There is no Edpuzzle answer key, and most of the “answers” pages you will find know that and sell you something anyway. This guide covers why the key does not exist, what the free tricks actually do, and how EdGenie gets the answer from the only place it lives: the video.

Share:
The short version

Edpuzzle hides the answer key from students and grades on its server, so inspect element, answer-key sites and shared documents cannot give you the answers. The method that works in 2026 reads the video itself. EdGenie pulls the transcript (or transcribes the audio), works out each question from what was said, and answers multiple choice, polls, notes and select-all free, 30 questions a day. Ultimate adds written answers typed in for you, transcription, every answer before the video plays, 5× speed and background play.

  • Every teacher’s questions are different, so no answer key or shared doc matches your assignment.
  • Inspect element shows nothing useful; the grading happens on Edpuzzle’s server.
  • Free: multiple choice, polls, notes and select-all, 30 a day, plus skipping the video.
  • Ultimate: written answers in a student voice, videos with no captions, accuracy 70 to 100%, typing speed you set.

Why is there no Edpuzzle answer key?

An answer key needs a fixed set of questions. Edpuzzle does not have one. A teacher picks a video from YouTube, Khan Academy or their own upload, then writes their own questions and drops them at the timestamps they choose. Two teachers assigning the same video write different questions, and the same teacher rewrites them from year to year.

Even when a question is a stock one that ships with a popular video, the correct answer is not sent to your browser. Edpuzzle grades on its server. Your page receives the question text and the options, you pick one, and the result comes back after you submit. There is nothing in the page source to find, which is why the inspect-element videos from 2019 stopped working years ago.

Open-ended questions are worse for answer-key hunters: they are graded by the teacher by hand. There is no “correct” string, only a paragraph a teacher will read.

So the question to ask is not “where is the key” but “where does the answer actually live”. It lives in the video. Every question a teacher writes is answerable from what was said in the thirty seconds before it appeared, because that is how teachers write them.

What are the free ways to get Edpuzzle answers, and why do they fail?

You will meet the same five suggestions on every forum. Here is what each one actually does.

  • Inspect element. Opens the page markup, which contains the question and the options and not the answer. Dead since Edpuzzle moved grading to the server.
  • Answer-key sites and shared Google Docs. Built for a different teacher’s questions on a different cut of the video. On the rare occasion the video matches, the questions do not.
  • Watching the video first on YouTube. Works, and it is the honest version of what EdGenie does. It also takes as long as the assignment.
  • GitHub scripts and bookmarklets. Most either break when Edpuzzle updates its page or answer instantly and identically for everyone who runs them, which is the pattern that stands out in the teacher’s Questions tab. A few only skip the video, which leaves the questions unanswered.
  • Pasting an AI answer into open-ended boxes. Teachers read these. A paragraph in a voice you do not have, or the same paragraph as three classmates, is the single easiest catch on the platform.

The common failure is that none of these methods look at the video, and the video is where the answer is. The second failure is timing: anything that answers instantly produces a record that does not look like watching. What Edpuzzle shows teachers covers that record in detail.

How does EdGenie get Edpuzzle answers?

EdGenie is a Chrome extension that reads the video and answers each question the way that kind of question needs answering. Setup takes about a minute:

1

Add EdGenie to Chrome and sign in

Install from the Chrome Web Store on Chrome, Edge or Brave. The free plan needs no card: multiple choice, polls, notes and select-all, 30 questions a day.

2

Open the Edpuzzle assignment

EdGenie notices the video and pulls its transcript. If the video has no captions, which is normal for videos uploaded straight to Edpuzzle, Ultimate transcribes the audio itself.

3

Press Start, or skip the video

Let the video play and each question is answered as it appears, with a dwell so nothing lands the instant the card loads. Or press Skip and the video is marked watched in seconds, then every question is answered.

4

Written answers on Ultimate

For an open-ended question, press Write. The answer is drafted from the transcript, rewritten in a student voice by the ToHuman humanizer, checked to read as 0% AI, and typed into Edpuzzle’s own box at the speed you set. Edit it first if you like, then Submit.

Multiple choice

Graded against the transcript, weighting the passage just before the question heaviest, with two graders and a tie-break when they disagree.

Select all that apply

Every option is judged on its own against the video: supported or not in video. No count is assumed.

Open ended

Written from what was actually said, in a voice that reads like a student, different for every account. Ultimate.

What is free, and what does Ultimate add?

The pattern: methods that do not look at the video cannot find the answer, and methods that answer instantly produce a record no student produces. EdGenie is built to do neither.

Is using EdGenie on Edpuzzle safe?

The honest answer, which is also the only useful one: Edpuzzle does not detect extensions, and it does not need to. It shows teachers your watch percentage, your total time spent, your attempts, the time you turned it in and every answer you gave. Whether a teacher looks closely is up to the teacher. No tool can honestly promise it is undetectable; what these controls decide is what your record looks like.

  • Keep accuracy realistic. Your normal is somewhere between 70 and 95%. Set EdGenie there and it misses on purpose.
  • Mind the time column on graded assignments. Skipping marks the video watched in seconds, and the Gradebook shows that short time next to a 100% watch line. On assignments where it matters, let the video run at up to 5× instead.
  • Read written answers before you submit. They are drafted in a student voice and checked to read as 0% AI, but you know your own vocabulary better than any humanizer.
  • Keep the dwell on. An answer the instant the card appears is the one machine signature a teacher can spot in the Students tab live.
  • Do not tell the group chat. Tools are discovered socially far more often than technically.

Tips for Edpuzzle assignments

A few things that come up in support chat often enough to write down.

Videos with no captions

Teacher uploads and screen recordings usually have none. Free answers need captions; Ultimate transcribes the audio and answers from that, so nothing changes for you.

Prevent Skipping is on

EdGenie answers each question as it appears while the video plays. Turn the speed up to 5× on Ultimate and a 20-minute video is a 4-minute one.

The tab-switch pause

Edpuzzle pauses when its tab is not in front. Background play on Ultimate keeps the video running while you do something else.

A question you want to answer yourself

The Answers list on Ultimate shows every answer before the video plays. Read them, change any you disagree with, and let it run.

The daily cap

30 free answers a day across your Edpuzzle assignments, reset daily. Two typical videos; three if the questions are sparse. Ultimate removes it.

One plan, every Genie

Ultimate also covers Delta Genie on DeltaMath, MemGenie on Membean and the other ten, each on its own platform.

Edpuzzle Answers FAQ

Is there an Edpuzzle answer key? No. Every teacher writes their own questions on their own choice of video, and Edpuzzle grades on its server, so no key, shared document or inspect-element trick contains your answers. The answer is in the video itself.

How do you get Edpuzzle answers for free? EdGenie answers multiple choice, polls, notes and select-all questions from the video’s transcript, 30 questions a day free with no card. Written answers and videos with no captions need Ultimate.

Does EdGenie work on open-ended Edpuzzle questions? Yes, on Ultimate. It drafts the answer from the transcript, rewrites it in a student voice, checks it reads as 0% AI, and types it into the box at the speed you choose. You can edit it before it goes in.

Can EdGenie skip the Edpuzzle video? Yes, free. Skip marks the video watched in seconds and then answers every question. Edpuzzle records the short time spent next to the 100% watch line, so on graded assignments you may prefer to let it play at up to 5× on Ultimate.

Will Edpuzzle know I used EdGenie? Edpuzzle cannot see your extensions or what they draw on screen. It shows teachers watch time, attempts, timestamps and answers, so a flawless, instant record is what gets noticed. EdGenie’s accuracy, dwell and typing-speed settings exist to decide what that record looks like.

How much does EdGenie cost? Free for 30 answers a day. Ultimate is $2.99 a week, $4.99 a month with a 3-day free trial, $24.99 a semester or $39.99 a year, and one plan covers all 14 Genies.
