GenieCheats vs StudyOutlaws vs Free Scripts: Which One Fits in 2026
Two paid extension suites cover most of the same school platforms, and a pile of free scripts promise the same thing for nothing. This is a fact-by-fact comparison: what each covers, what each costs, which controls you get, and where each one is honestly the better pick. Every competitor number links to the page we read it on.
GenieCheats and StudyOutlaws are both subscription extension suites for school platforms. GenieCheats costs $4.99 a month for every platform it supports; StudyOutlaws lists its Membean, IXL, DeltaMath and Edpuzzle automation under a $7.99 Ultimate plan, with a cheaper $3.99 Pro tier for other sites. StudyOutlaws lists more platforms (16 to 13) and has a Firefox build for Membean; GenieCheats covers Nearpod, Vocabulary.com and Socrative, which StudyOutlaws does not, and includes Server Side Automation on every paid plan. Free GitHub and Tampermonkey scripts cost nothing but are mostly unmaintained.
- Ten platforms overlap. StudyOutlaws adds Kahoot, Khan Academy, Google Classroom, Edmentum, Pear Assessment and AP Classroom; GenieCheats adds Nearpod, Vocabulary.com and Socrative.
- GenieCheats: $2.99 weekly, $4.99 monthly with a 3-day trial, $24.99 a semester, $39.99 a year. StudyOutlaws: $3.99 Pro with a 7-day trial, $7.99 Ultimate with none.
- Both offer accuracy and timing controls on paid plans. Only GenieCheats lists Snip & Solve; both have server-side scheduling, StudyOutlaws on Ultimate only.
- Neither company refunds used periods, so use the trials: 3 days on GenieCheats Monthly, 7 days on StudyOutlaws Pro.
Platform coverage: 13 vs 16, with a 10-platform overlap
GenieCheats supports 14 platforms, each with its own extension. StudyOutlaws lists 16 on its extension page, though its features page marks most Beta and only Membean Ready. Ten appear on both lists.

GenieCheats caps from the pricing FAQ; StudyOutlaws statuses and plan requirements from its features page, read on 24 October 2026.
The honest summary: if your school lives in Kahoot, Khan Academy or Google Classroom, only StudyOutlaws lists them. If it lives in Nearpod, Vocabulary.com or Socrative, only GenieCheats does. Everyone else is choosing on price, controls and browser.
Pricing, free tiers and trials
GenieCheats sells one tier, Ultimate, on four billing periods; every period unlocks the same features on all 14 platforms. StudyOutlaws sells two paid tiers, and its home page lists Membean, IXL, DeltaMath and Edpuzzle under Ultimate, so the two prices that line up for most students are $4.99 against $7.99.
| GenieCheats | StudyOutlaws | |
|---|---|---|
| Free tier | Every extension; answers shown or filled in, 20 to 50 a day by platform; no card | 15 credits a week; Kahoot and Blooket lookups cost 5, Wayground 10; Membean Hack free features highlight answers and pause the timer |
| Cheapest paid | $2.99 a week | $3.99 a month (Pro): 100 credits a day, Pro-tier platforms |
| Monthly | $4.99 a month, every platform | $7.99 a month (Ultimate): unlimited credits, Membean, IXL, DeltaMath, Edpuzzle, server-side scheduling |
| Longer terms | $24.99 a semester; $39.99 a year | A yearly toggle advertises a saving but showed no yearly figures when we checked |
| Free trial | 3 days on Monthly; card required, cancel before day 3 and nothing is charged | 7 days on Pro for first-time subscribers; none on Ultimate |
| Tiers | One; only the billing changes | Two, with different platform access and limits |
GenieCheats prices from geniecheats.com/pricing. StudyOutlaws prices, credits and trial terms from studyoutlaws.com; the Membean Hack store listing describes the same three tiers.
Where StudyOutlaws is cheaper: Pro at $3.99 undercuts GenieCheats Monthly by a dollar, and its 7-day trial is longer than our 3. Where GenieCheats is cheaper: Membean, IXL, DeltaMath or Edpuzzle automation is $4.99 instead of $7.99, or $3.33 a month on Yearly. One caveat in StudyOutlaws’ favour: their Membean Hack listing puts Membean automation and timing controls in Pro, while their home page files Membean under Ultimate. Ask them which is current.
Controls: accuracy, pacing, automation and what runs where
Both paid products let you decide how your record looks. The ranges differ, and so does what is included.
| Control | GenieCheats Ultimate | StudyOutlaws | Free scripts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Accuracy | 60 to 100% on MemGenie; 80 to 100% on Delta Genie; per-Genie ranges elsewhere, misses picked for you | Adjustable; Membean default 75 to 90%; listed for IXL, Edpuzzle, Pear Assessment | Rarely; most answer everything correctly |
| Pacing | 5, 10 or 15 second pause on MemGenie; Instant to Careful on Delta Genie; Fast, Normal or Careful on NoRedInk Genie | Timing controls on Pro and above; Membean sessions of 5 to 60 minutes | Usually instant |
| Full Automation | Answers, submits and moves on through the assignment, skill or session | Autosolve and automatic progression where the platform and plan allow | Some GitHub bots; break when the page changes |
| Snip & Solve | Draw a box around anything on screen; 3 a day free on DeltaMath, 10 on Ultimate; on IXL with Ultimate | Not listed | No; paste into a chatbot |
| Server Side Automation | DeltaMath and Membean, every paid plan: our machines run the Genie on a schedule with your computer closed | Ultimate only: server-side automation and session scheduling | No |
| Verified quiz answers | Membean quizzes answered on hover from a confirmed-answer database | Quiz Solver listed as Beta on Ultimate | No |
| Where it runs | In your browser, driving the real page | Browser extension plus their servers; the beta sends page content to StudyOutlaws for processing | In your browser |
GenieCheats controls from the MemGenie, Delta Genie, IXL Genie and NoRedInk Genie pages on this site. StudyOutlaws controls from its features page and beta extension listing.
StudyOutlaws defaults Membean to 75 to 90%, a sensible range; GenieCheats runs from 60% to 100%, and on DeltaMath stops at 80% because a long run of wrong algebra looks as odd as a perfect one. Both are far ahead of a script with no setting at all.
Detection: what each one claims, and what Membean actually does
GenieCheats’ position, stated on our pricing page, is that no tool can honestly promise you will never be noticed. The extensions drive the real interface with the clicks and key presses you would make, and the accuracy and pacing controls exist because what stands out to a teacher is a student who is never wrong and always first.
StudyOutlaws markets its Membean extension with the phrase “Anti-Detection” in its Chrome Web Store listing and Firefox listing. To its credit, its own FAQ walks that back: no third-party tool can guarantee uninterrupted or private use on another company’s platform. Read the FAQ, not the tagline.
Free scripts make the biggest claims with the least backing. Two of the five repositories under GitHub’s membean topic describe themselves as completely safe; none has been updated since August 2025.
- What Membean does. Its support article says teachers can turn on detection of certain Chrome extensions. When one is flagged, the student sees a notice and every Membean feature stays inaccessible until the extension is turned off. The article names no extensions; teachers who want to know which was detected are told to email Membean support.
- What that means for you. Any extension can in principle be fingerprinted if it injects elements the page can see. MemGenie draws its highlights on your screen and does not alter the page Membean reads. Nobody, us included, can verify how a product behaves against a given school’s settings.
- The part no vendor controls. Timing and accuracy show in every platform’s reports regardless of extension. That is why both paid products expose them as settings, and why instant-answer scripts are the riskiest option whatever they promise.
Browser support: Chromium-only vs Chrome plus a Firefox build
GenieCheats extensions install from the Chrome Web Store and run on Chrome, Edge and Brave. There is no Firefox or Safari build.
StudyOutlaws’ extension page lists desktop Chrome only, but a Firefox add-on called Membean Hack by Wembean exists with the same feature list. If you are stuck on Firefox for Membean, that is a genuine option GenieCheats does not offer. Check the version first: the Firefox build was 9.0.9, updated 16 September 2025, with 12 users and 1.5 stars from 2 reviews; the Chrome version was 9.4.2, updated 9 October 2026, with about 6,000 users and 3.7 stars from 59 ratings.
| GenieCheats | StudyOutlaws | Free scripts | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chrome | Yes | Yes | Yes, via Tampermonkey or the console |
| Edge / Brave | Yes, from the Chrome Web Store | Not stated | Yes |
| Firefox | No | Membean only, via the Wembean add-on | Yes, via Tampermonkey or Greasemonkey |
| Chromebook with extensions blocked | No | Extension no; server-side scheduling may still run | Console tricks, until the page changes |
The free alternatives students actually use
Most students try the free routes first. They explain what the paid tools charge for.
- GitHub scripts. The membean topic on GitHub holds five repositories: an API wrapper, a command-line trainer last touched in 2020, and three auto-answer bots with zero stars and no commits since 2025. A repo appears, works until the site changes, then sits with an open “not working” issue.
- Tampermonkey userscripts. Tampermonkey is a legitimate userscript manager for Chrome, Firefox and Edge; the school-platform scripts people load into it are not from Tampermonkey. The ones that survive longest only highlight, because highlighting is easier to maintain than clicking. None has an accuracy slider.
- Inspect element. Reading the answer out of the page markup in developer tools. Platforms moved answer checking to their servers years ago, so on Membean, DeltaMath, IXL and NoRedInk there is nothing useful to find.
- Answer-key PDFs. Useful on a fixed worksheet, useless on adaptive platforms. Membean, IXL and DeltaMath generate each student’s set, so someone else’s key rarely matches yours.
- Copy-paste into an AI chatbot. Free, one question at a time, and the right call for a single stuck problem. It does not read the page, cannot enter answers, has no pacing, and is wrong often enough on maths that you still need to check it.
What you pay either company for is maintenance when the platform changes, accuracy and timing controls, and a support channel. For an occasional answer you will check yourself, the free routes are fine. For an assignment finished with a believable record, they are not.
Support, cancellation and refunds
Neither company refunds time you have already used, so the trial is where you decide.
| GenieCheats | StudyOutlaws | |
|---|---|---|
| Refunds | All payments are final and non-refundable (terms) | Completed and partially used periods are non-refundable except where law requires (terms, section 7); billing errors reviewed by support (FAQ) |
| Free trial | 3 days on Monthly; cancel from your account page before it ends and you are not charged | 7 days on Pro for first-time subscribers; none on Ultimate |
| Cancelling | Any time from your account page; access runs to the end of the paid period; no fee, no minimum | Any time from account settings; access continues to the end of the paid period |
| Support | Discord server and [email protected]; live support on Ultimate | Discord server, email and a Help Center |
| Payments | Stripe: cards, Cash App Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link | Stripe: cards and some wallets by region |
- Use the trial deliberately. Install the extension for the platform you actually have homework on and run a real assignment inside the window. Three days on GenieCheats or seven on StudyOutlaws is enough to know.
- Set a reminder to cancel. Both bill automatically at renewal and neither refunds a period you forgot about.
- Buy the period you need. GenieCheats Yearly is $39.99, about $3.33 a month, if you will use it all year; Weekly is $2.99 if you need one week.
Who should pick which
There is no single winner, so here is the decision by situation.
Pick StudyOutlaws if
Your school runs on Kahoot, Khan Academy, Google Classroom, Edmentum, Pear Assessment or AP Classroom, none of which GenieCheats covers. Or you are on Firefox and only need Membean. Or you only need Pro-tier sites and want to spend $3.99 rather than $4.99.
Pick GenieCheats if
You need Membean, IXL, DeltaMath or Edpuzzle automation, where you pay $4.99 against $7.99. You use Nearpod, Vocabulary.com or Socrative. You want Snip & Solve, or Server Side Automation without a higher tier. You want one price with nothing held back.
Stick with free if
You need one answer now and then, will check it yourself, and need nothing entered or paced. A chatbot and your own judgement cost nothing.
If you already pay for StudyOutlaws Ultimate, the switching offer gives your first three months of GenieCheats Ultimate at $2.49 a month, then $4.99. Buying it does not cancel your StudyOutlaws subscription; do that in their account settings.
GenieCheats vs StudyOutlaws FAQ
Is GenieCheats cheaper than StudyOutlaws? For Membean, IXL, DeltaMath and Edpuzzle automation, yes: GenieCheats Ultimate is $4.99 a month (or $39.99 a year) and StudyOutlaws lists those platforms under its $7.99 Ultimate plan. StudyOutlaws’ $3.99 Pro tier is cheaper than GenieCheats Monthly, but covers a different set of platforms and task limits.
Which platforms does StudyOutlaws cover that GenieCheats does not? Kahoot, Khan Academy, Google Classroom, Edmentum, Pear Assessment (Edulastic) and AP Classroom, according to StudyOutlaws’ own platform list. GenieCheats covers Nearpod, Vocabulary.com and Socrative, which StudyOutlaws does not list. Ten platforms appear on both.
Does either one work on Firefox? GenieCheats runs on Chrome, Edge and Brave only. StudyOutlaws lists desktop Chrome, but a Firefox add-on called Membean Hack by Wembean exists for Membean; it was a year behind the Chrome version when we checked.
Can I get a refund from GenieCheats or StudyOutlaws? Neither refunds time already paid for. GenieCheats’ terms say all payments are final; StudyOutlaws’ terms say completed and partially used periods are non-refundable except where the law requires. Use the trials: 3 days on GenieCheats Monthly, 7 days on StudyOutlaws Pro.
Are the free GitHub and Tampermonkey scripts safe to use? They cost nothing, but most are unmaintained, answer instantly with no accuracy setting, and stop working when the platform changes its page. Membean also lets teachers turn on detection of certain extensions. A paid tool with pacing and accuracy controls produces a more believable record; no tool can promise you will never be noticed.
What is included in GenieCheats Ultimate? Every one of the 14 extensions, Full Automation, unlimited questions, accuracy and pacing controls, Snip & Solve, Server Side Automation on DeltaMath and Membean, verified Membean quiz answers and live support. Weekly, Monthly, Semester and Yearly unlock exactly the same features; only the billing changes. See pricing.
