Nearpod Answers: How to Get Them in 2026 (Free & Fast)
Nearpod lessons are built slide by slide by the teacher, half the questions have no single right answer, and the videos will not let you skip to the question. That is why “Nearpod answers” searches find so little. This guide covers what actually gets an answer onto the slide you are on, what each method costs you in a live room, and what the teacher sees afterwards.
Nearpod lessons are teacher-built or teacher-edited and full of open-ended and poll slides, so there is no answer key to find. Googling mid-lesson is too slow for a live room and pasting from a chatbot is the most common way Nearpod work gets questioned. Nearpod Genie is a Chrome extension that reads the activity on the slide, puts the answer in with one click, types written answers key by key and skips to video questions, 25 activities a day free; Ultimate removes the cap and adds Full Automation.
- Lessons come from the teacher or the Nearpod library and are edited freely; the library needs a teacher account to browse.
- Polls, Collaborate Boards and Draw It have no right answer; open-ended questions are read by the teacher verbatim.
- Interactive videos stop at each question and cannot be scrubbed past it, which is why the search is often really “nearpod skip video”.
- Nearpod Genie answers quizzes, polls, matching, drag and drop, fill in the blanks and open-ended slides; Full Automation on Ultimate runs a whole assigned lesson.
Why is there no Nearpod answer key?
A Nearpod lesson is a slide deck with activities dropped in. Teachers build their own, pull one from the Nearpod library and edit it, or convert a Google Slides deck and add questions. Even when the starting point is a library lesson, the version you are taking is whatever your teacher saved.
No student-facing library
Browsing and previewing lessons needs a teacher account. You join by code and see one slide at a time.
Half the slides have no key
Polls, Collaborate Boards, Draw It and open-ended questions are opinion, work or writing. The teacher reads them; nothing is marked right or wrong.
The pace is not yours
In Live Participation the teacher moves the class slide by slide. You cannot read ahead, and you cannot linger on a search while everyone else has moved on.
So the question is not really “where is the answer key”. It is “how do I get a good answer onto this slide, now, without it being obvious”. The methods below are judged on that.
What free methods are there, and why do they fail?
- Googling the question. Works for a factual quiz slide if you can type it fast enough. In a live lesson the teacher advances before you are back, and it does nothing for a video question or anything written.
- Pasting from a chatbot. The default move for open-ended slides, and the most common way Nearpod work gets questioned. Teachers read these answers, sometimes aloud. A four-paragraph response with a conclusion from a student who writes in fragments is noticed by a person, not a system.
- The group chat. A friend who did the Student-Paced version sends their answers. Works until the teacher edits the lesson, shuffles a quiz, or reads two identical open-ended answers.
- Scrubbing the video. Nearpod interactive videos stop at each question and will not let you drag past it. There is no built-in skip, which is why so many searches for Nearpod answers are really searches for a way through the video.
- Inspect element. The right choice is not in the slide’s markup in a form you can act on, and open-ended slides have nothing to find.
The shared problem is time and voice. Every free method is either too slow for a room where the teacher controls the pace, or it produces an answer that does not sound like you. The detection page explains why those two things are what the teacher actually sees.
How does Nearpod Genie get the answers?
Nearpod Genie is a Chrome extension that sits in the corner of your Nearpod lesson and reads the activity on the slide you are on. It does not need a library or a key; it works from the question in front of you. Four steps, matching the lesson itself:
Install, sign in, open your lesson
Add Nearpod Genie from the Chrome Web Store on Chrome, Edge or Brave. Join the lesson by code as usual. The free plan needs no card and covers 25 activities a day, reset at midnight UTC.
Press Solve this activity
On a quiz, Genie reads the question, picks the right answer and you press Submit. Polls, matching pairs, drag and drop, fill in the blanks with a word bank and memory tests work the same way. Where something has to be done by hand, such as an audio recording, the panel shows you the answer instead.
Written answers, typed like you
Open-ended questions are typed into the box key by key at the speed you pick, Fast, Normal or Slow, with the odd typo made and fixed on the way. Read it over, shorten it if it sounds too formal, then press Submit.
Skip the videos
On an interactive video, press Skip video. Genie jumps to the next question in the video and answers it from the video’s transcript. Turn on Skip videos in Settings and it does that on every video slide, Nearpod-hosted or YouTube.
It covers quizzes (single answer and select-all), polls, video questions, open-ended, Collaborate Boards, drag and drop, Draw It, matching pairs, fill in the blanks and memory tests. Every subject, because it reads the slide rather than matching a lesson it knows in advance.
How should you use it in a live lesson versus Student-Paced?
Nearpod has two modes and they call for different habits. In Live Participation the teacher controls the slides and watches responses arrive on the dashboard. In Student-Paced the lesson is assigned and you work through it alone, with everything read later from the report.
- Live lessons. Use Solve and press Submit yourself. The panel gives you the answer the moment the slide loads; when you send it is your decision, and letting a few names tick off before yours is the single most useful habit on this platform. For open-ended slides, read what Genie is about to type and cut it down to the length you would write.
- Student-Paced lessons. This is what Full Automation is for. Genie reads each slide, answers, submits and moves on, videos included, and the report fills in without you sitting there. Pick Normal or Slow typing so the written answers are not all the same length and tone, and do not start and finish a forty-slide lesson in the time it takes to read one.
- Interactive videos in either mode. Skip video jumps to the next question and answers it from the transcript. In a live lesson the teacher’s own player is driving, so the gain is the answer, not the time; in Student-Paced it is both.
The common thread: the extension gets you the answer in both modes. Which mode you are in decides whether the thing to manage is the moment you press Submit or the shape of a report read the next day.
What does Ultimate add on Nearpod?

Nearpod answer methods compared
| Method | Works in a live lesson | Open-ended slides | Video questions | How it reads to the teacher |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Googling the question | Too slow | No | No | Fine, if you get back in time |
| Pasting from a chatbot | Yes | Yes | No | Like a chatbot |
| Group chat answers | Sometimes | Yes, identically | No | Two matching essays |
| Scrubbing the video | n/a | n/a | Does not work | n/a |
| Inspect element | No | No | No | n/a |
| Nearpod Genie (Free) | Yes, you press Submit | Typed key by key at your speed | Skip to the question, answer from transcript | Typed, in a length you approved |
| Nearpod Genie (Ultimate) | Yes | Yes | Yes, on every video | Depends on pacing; built for Student-Paced |
The last column is the one Nearpod makes unusual. On most platforms the teacher sees a score; on Nearpod they read the answer.
Will you get caught using Nearpod answers?
It depends on what your responses look like and when they arrive, not on which tool produced them. Nearpod’s FAQ says the Teacher Dashboard shows participation and responses during a live lesson, and its reports guide describes a post-session report with every student’s answers, participation and scores.
No tool can honestly promise it is undetectable; these controls decide what your record looks like. On Nearpod the controls are the typing speed, the length and tone of what you let Genie type, and the moment you press Submit. Use all three.
- Shorten the written answers. If the panel’s answer is longer or more formal than you would write, cut it before it types. Two plain sentences read like a student; five polished ones do not.
- Do not be first. In a live lesson, names tick off on the dashboard in order. Let a few land before yours.
- Pace video questions. Skip video gets you to the question. Submitting it roughly when the video would have reached it is on you.
- Save Full Automation for assigned lessons. A whole live lesson completed in the first minute is visible to the person controlling the slides. Student-Paced lessons are read later from the report, which is what the mode is for.
- Read the detection page. The full account of what the dashboard and reports show is on Can Nearpod Detect Cheating?
Nearpod Answers FAQ
Is there a Nearpod answer key? No. Lessons are built or edited by the teacher, the library needs a teacher account to browse, and polls, boards and open-ended slides have no right answer at all. Methods that work read the slide you are on.
How do I get Nearpod answers for free? Nearpod Genie reads the activity on your slide and fills the answer in when you press Solve this activity, 25 activities a day free with no card. You press Submit yourself. Open-ended answers are typed key by key at the speed you pick.
Can you skip videos on Nearpod? Not with Nearpod’s own player, which stops at each question. Nearpod Genie’s Skip video jumps to the next question in the video and answers it from the transcript, and Skip videos in Settings does that on every video slide.
Does Nearpod Genie answer open-ended questions? Yes. It types the answer into the box key by key, Fast, Normal or Slow, with the odd typo fixed on the way, and you read it over before pressing Submit. Shorten anything that sounds more formal than you would write.
What does Nearpod Genie Ultimate add? Unlimited activities instead of 25 a day, and Full Automation, which answers, submits and moves through a whole lesson until it is done. One plan covers all 14 Genies at $2.99 a week or $4.99 a month with a 3-day trial.
Can the teacher tell I used Nearpod Genie? Nearpod cannot see an extension or what it shows beside the slide; what the teacher sees is your response, when it arrived and how it reads. No tool can honestly promise it is undetectable, which is why Genie types at your speed and leaves Submit to you.
