Socrative Answers: How to Get Them in 2026

Socrative quizzes are written by your teacher and run live, which rules out most of what works elsewhere. This guide covers why there is no answer key, what the free methods actually do in a room where the teacher is watching a results board, how Socrative Genie answers the question on your screen, and where the risk honestly sits.

Share:
The short version

Socrative has no answer key to find, because every quiz is written by the teacher who is running it and lives in their account, not on the page. Room codes, shared screenshots and scripts all fail for the same reason. Socrative Genie reads the question on your screen and puts the answer on the page when you press Solve, free 25 times a day; you press Submit. Ultimate removes the cap and adds Full Automation.

  • Quizzes are teacher-made, so there is no public bank and no site with the answers.
  • Short answers are graded by exact match against what the teacher typed, so even the right idea in other words can be marked wrong.
  • Socrative Genie handles multiple choice, select-all, true/false, short answer and numeric, with pictures read by a vision model.
  • Free: 25 questions a day. Ultimate: unlimited, plus Full Automation that answers, submits and moves on.

Why is there no Socrative answer key?

Socrative is a quiz delivery tool, not a content library. Your teacher writes the quiz (or imports one from another teacher), launches it into a room, and you join the room by name. The questions and the key sit in the teacher’s account; what your browser receives is the question text and the choices, one at a time or as a set depending on the delivery method.

That has two consequences. First, there is no site to look the quiz up on, because the quiz does not exist outside that teacher’s account. Teachers can share quizzes with each other by code, but the code is not something students are given. Second, the correct answer is not in the page. Socrative marks multiple choice and true/false on its servers and shows the result after you submit; short answers are compared by exact match against the words the teacher typed in.

The exact-match rule is worth remembering on its own. A short answer that is right in substance but worded differently from the teacher’s key is marked wrong until the teacher regrades it. Any method that produces the right idea in the wrong words loses points on Socrative.

What are the free ways to get Socrative answers, and why do they fail?

Everything people try, in rough order of how often it comes up, and what happens in a live room.

  • Searching the question. Works when the teacher imported a common quiz, fails when they wrote it, and either way it is a second tab in a classroom where the teacher is walking around. Slow enough that your Progress cell lags the room.
  • A friend’s screenshot. Only useful if the friend is ahead of you, and on a teacher-paced quiz nobody is ahead of anyone. On a student-paced quiz, two students with matching short answers are the first thing a report shows.
  • Inspect element. The correct choice is not sent to the student page. There is nothing to find.
  • Scripts and pasted code. Socrative’s student page changes, the scripts stop, and the ones that still run answer at machine speed, which on a projected Live Results board means being the first row to turn green.
  • A chatbot in another tab. Reasonable for one hard question. Copying twenty questions in and out while the class moves on is slower than reading, and a picture question has to be described.

Notice that the failure mode is rarely “the method gave the wrong answer”. It is that the method is slow and visible in a room, or fast and visible on the board. The detection guide explains why the board matters more than any detector.

How does Socrative Genie get the answer?

Socrative Genie is a Chrome extension that reads the question on your screen, works it out, and puts the answer on the page the way you would. It does not parse Socrative’s code or look for a key, so it keeps working when the student page changes.

1

Add Socrative Genie to Chrome and sign in

Install from the Chrome Web Store on Chrome, Edge or Brave. Sign in with your GenieCheats account; the free plan needs no card.

2

Join your room on Socrative

Enter the room name your teacher gave you. The Socrative Genie panel appears in the bottom-right corner once a question is up.

3

Press “Solve this question”

Genie reads the question and puts the answer on the page: the choice picked, the boxes ticked, the short answer typed. Then it stops.

4

Press Submit when you are ready

You decide when the answer goes in. On a teacher-paced quiz that is after the question opens; on a student-paced one, whenever you like.

Free accounts get 25 questions a day, reset at midnight UTC, with every question type included. A typical Socrative quiz is ten to twenty questions, so the free plan covers one full quiz most days with room left over for an exit ticket.

Two details matter in a live room. The panel only appears once a question is on screen, so on a teacher-paced quiz there is nothing to press until the teacher opens the question, the same as everyone else. And because Genie stops before Submit, the moment your answer lands in the teacher’s Live Results table is the moment you choose, not the moment the question appeared.

Which Socrative question types does it handle?

All of them, including the ones that trip up pasted scripts.

Multiple choice

One answer or select all that apply. The right choice is picked; on select-all, every correct box is ticked.

True / false

Picked the same way, with the explanation box filled if the teacher turned it on.

Short answer

Exact-answer questions get the shortest exact form, typed one key at a time. “Explain” and “describe” prompts get one or two sentences in a student’s words.

Numeric

Typed as a number, in the form Socrative expects.

Picture questions

A question whose image matters is read by a vision model, so diagrams and screenshots of problems are covered.

Every delivery method

Teacher-paced, student-paced, Space Race, exit tickets and quick questions all work.

One Socrative-specific caveat: because short answers are graded by exact match against the teacher’s key, a correct answer in different words can still be marked wrong. Genie gives the shortest exact form to minimise that, and your teacher can regrade.

What does Ultimate add?

The free plan is the full answering engine with a daily cap and Submit left to you. Ultimate removes the cap and adds the hands-off mode.

  • Unlimited questions. No 25-a-day limit, on Socrative and on all 14 Genies, since one plan covers every extension.
  • Full Automation. Switch it on and Genie answers each question, presses Submit, reads the result and moves on: Next Question, Finish Quiz, right through to “You completed the activity”. On a teacher-paced quiz it waits for your teacher between questions. Stop it any time.
  • A Speed setting. One setting controls every wait and the typing speed on Full Automation. It exists to match the room.
  • Everything else in the bundle. Snip & Solve for anything on screen, Server Side Automation on DeltaMath and Membean, and every other Genie on its own platform.

Pricing is the same for every Genie: $2.99 a week, $4.99 a month with a 3-day free trial, $24.99 a semester or $39.99 a year. Every tier unlocks exactly the same features; only the billing changes. The pricing page has the full comparison.

What is the honest risk?

Socrative does not run a detector and cannot see an extension. What it does is show your teacher a live table with your progress, your score and every answer in green or red, usually while the teacher is in the room with you, and then keep every response in a report afterwards. The detection guide goes through that screen column by column with links to Socrative’s own help pages.

The practical version: students get noticed on Socrative for finishing before the room could have read the question, for a perfect row from a student who is usually not, for short answers that match a classmate’s word for word, and for telling people. The first three are timing and wording, and on Socrative Genie those are yours: you press Submit, short answers are typed in a student’s words, and on Full Automation you choose the Speed and it waits for the teacher. No tool can honestly promise it is undetectable; these controls decide what your row looks like.

Keep your account to yourself and install from the Chrome Web Store, where the listing, the developer and the update history are public. Anything sold over Discord that wants a login is the category every warning is about.

Socrative Answers FAQ

Is there a Socrative answer key? No. Socrative quizzes are written by the teacher running them and stored in that teacher's account, so there is no public bank to search. The correct answer is not sent to the student page; multiple choice is marked on the server and short answers are compared by exact match to the teacher's key.

What is the fastest way to get Socrative answers? A Chrome extension that reads the question on your screen. Socrative Genie picks the choice or types the short answer when you press Solve this question, covers every Socrative question type and delivery method, and leaves Submit to you. Free accounts get 25 questions a day.

Why did Socrative mark my short answer wrong? Socrative grades short answers by exact match against the words the teacher typed in. A correct answer in different words is marked wrong until the teacher regrades it. Socrative Genie gives the shortest exact form to make a match more likely.

Does Socrative Genie work on teacher-paced quizzes and Space Race? Yes. On a teacher-paced quiz it answers each question as the teacher opens it and waits in between. Space Race is the same quiz in teams. Exit tickets and quick questions are answered in a student's own words.

Is Socrative Genie free? Yes, on any signed-in account: 25 questions a day, reset at midnight UTC, every question type included, no card. Ultimate removes the cap and adds Full Automation with a Speed setting, from $2.99 a week or $4.99 a month with a 3-day trial.

Will Socrative Genie get me caught? No tool can honestly promise it is undetectable. Socrative shows the teacher a live table of progress and answers, so what gets noticed is finishing first and matching text. On Socrative Genie you press Submit, short answers are typed in a student's words, and Full Automation waits for the teacher and has a Speed setting.
